About wabill
wabill started with a simple observation: across Africa, WhatsApp is how business gets done. Tradespeople confirm jobs on WhatsApp. Freelancers negotiate on WhatsApp. Landlords chase rent on WhatsApp. But when it came time to send an actual invoice, everyone switched to a laptop, a dashboard, or a Word template. That switch was where people gave up.
So we built an invoicing tool that lives where the conversation already happens. You describe the job in a WhatsApp message. wabill turns it into a professional PDF with your logo, bank details, VAT, and sequential numbering. No app to download. No account to create. Done in under a minute.
That was the first product. Then we noticed something else: crèche owners, gym owners, and landlords were spending the first week of every month chasing people for recurring payments. So we built Collect → automated recurring billing with payment links delivered on WhatsApp. Set the billing day once, and every member gets an invoice with a payment link. Automatic reminders on day 5, 10, and 15.
Then a different problem came in: factories and farms with hundreds of employees who have no email, no laptop, and no access to an HR portal. Their payslips were sitting on a server they would never log into. So we built Distribution → upload a CSV from any payroll system, and every employee gets a password-protected payslip delivered to their personal WhatsApp.
wabill now works in 50+ African countries with 8 currencies and mobile money support. We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
10 free documents. Then R49/month. No card needed.
